Exile is 23 year old Tim Shaw from Durham. Living with Shitmat and Chevron in Brighton, he is currently studying a masters in Electroacoustic composition at university, whilst maintaining his alter ego as one of the hottest tips amongst the up and coming drum and bass producers for breaking into the big time. Tim's first single, "Fatal Exception/Undergrowth" was released two and a half years ago on John B's Beta Recordings imprint. Since then, Tim has been producing a steady stream of releases for a number of labels, including two E.P.s and a single for Moving Shadow, a single for Beta Recordings, a 12" on Planet Mu and soon a full-length album on the same label. He is known for his steadfast refusal to conform to the flavour of the month, preferring to stick to his own tack. His sound ranges from the intricately structured but soulful sound design right through to breakcore, deep atmospherics and samples twisted using processes still unavailable commercially.
